As a newly married and young couple, even after my husband was diagnosed with azoospermia, we did not want to believe that we would never be able to have children. We followed every glimmer of hope. After countless urology consultations, a total of three micro-TESE operations were performed in two different centers. No sperm was found.
The idea of sperm donation always felt distant to us. How were we supposed to find a trustworthy clinic when we couldn’t share this with anyone? Unfortunately, there are many rumors about this subject. During our research on Google, we found a well-established hospital in Cyprus that has been serving for maybe 30–40 years. We got in touch with Cyprus American IVF Center – Op. Dr. Erman Sever.
The clinic is located independently on a large floor of this hospital. They told us they had certified sperm cells imported from internationally licensed banks, and we were able to see those certificates ourselves and select a profile that felt right to us. At this stage, we received both emotional and highly professional support. We were also greatly reassured about confidentiality. Apart from the doctor, nurse, donor coordinator, and those directly involved in our treatment, no one knew any details about us.
Even after the transfer, throughout the pregnancy, and even after the birth, the Cyprus American IVF Center team continued to support us. We are endlessly grateful to Dr. Erman Sever and the entire team. We are so glad we met you. You will always be in our hearts…
