PRP in IVF Treatment

PRP in IVF Treatment: A Natural Support

IVF treatment is a process full of hope for couples who wish to have children. However, in some cases, it is possible to face various challenges during this journey. For this reason, the continuous development of methods and technologies used in IVF treatment is of great importance.

PRP in IVF Treatment: An Innovative, Experimental Method

PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) is an enriched form of platelets, which are cells in the plasma of the blood that promote cell regeneration. This treatment method is used to accelerate wound healing in the body, support tissue repair, and ensure healthier cell renewal. At the same time, since PRP contains growth factors, it is expected to support tissue healing by stimulating cell proliferation.

The Role of PRP in IVF Treatment

During IVF treatment, many studies have been conducted regarding the use of PRP, particularly at the implantation stage. Implantation is the stage where the embryo attaches to the uterus, and endometrial quality is crucial at this point. Experimental studies suggest that PRP strengthens endometrial tissue and may increase implantation success. However, its effectiveness has not yet been proven.

There is no definitive evidence that it increases the likelihood of a pregnancy continuing successfully.

Another reason for using PRP in IVF treatment is related to studies investigating its effects on improving egg and sperm quality. In cases where couples cannot conceive naturally, research has been ongoing for many years to determine whether PRP enhances the quality of these cells. However, it remains at the experimental stage.

How is PRP Applied in IVF Treatment?

PRP application in IVF treatment is usually performed before embryo transfer. PRP is derived from the patient’s own blood. The process involves taking a blood sample from the patient and processing it in a special centrifuge device. As a result, the number of platelets in the plasma portion of the blood increases, creating the enriched form of PRP. The obtained PRP is then injected into the inner lining of the uterus. This procedure is generally a minimally invasive method and is easily tolerated by patients.
