Egg Donation Treatment Process
Egg donation is an IVF procedure used for women who no longer produce eggs or have entered menopause. In this method, eggs are donated by a young, healthy, and proven fertile woman, fertilized with the male partner’s sperm in the laboratory, and the resulting embryos are transferred into the uterus.
Who Can Benefit from Egg Donation?
Women with low AMH levels, early menopause, or menopause
Patients with genetic conditions (such as Turner Syndrome) who cannot produce eggs naturally
Patients carrying chromosomal disorders that could be passed on to the baby
Women born without the ability to produce eggs
Patients with repeated failed IVF attempts
Patients with poor egg quality where embryo development or pregnancy could not be achieved
Women who have undergone chemotherapy or radiotherapy
IVF patients in whom no eggs could be retrieved
Because egg donors are young (between 20–28 years old), pregnancy rates in egg donation are significantly higher than in standard IVF, often reaching 80% or more depending on the patient.

Donor Selection
Donors are carefully matched with the couple’s physical characteristics and blood type.
Donors are:
Young (20–28 years old)
Healthy women with no fertility issues
Women who have previously conceived or given birth
Individuals who have undergone comprehensive genetic and health screenings
All donors are tested for Thalassemia and Cystic Fibrosis, and other medical tests are repeated regularly. This ensures that donors are not carriers of common genetic diseases.
All donors also undergo RECOMBINE testing, which analyzes more than 250 genes, over 250 genetic diseases, and more than 2,000 mutations. These tests are performed routinely at no extra cost, to reduce miscarriage risk, prevent recurrent pregnancy loss, increase treatment success, and avoid the transmission of genetic disorders.
In necessary cases, we also recommend the Invitae Comprehensive Carrier Screening (up to 569 genes), which provides expanded protection against genetic diseases and is suitable for all ethnic backgrounds.
At our center, the identities of donors and recipients are strictly confidential. By law, these details are never shared, ensuring complete anonymity.
Treatment Procedure
For each patient, mature, high-quality donor eggs (M2) are fertilized with the partner’s sperm. Depending on the patient’s age and condition, 2 or 3 embryos are transferred. Remaining good-quality embryos may be frozen and stored with the patient’s consent.
To maximize physical resemblance, donor matching is carried out according to the couple’s information and preferences.
All treatments are performed with strict digital privacy and security protocols. No patient information is shared with family members or institutions.
Duration and Logistics
The maximum stay for the patient in Cyprus is 1 week. Before treatment, routine tests can be done locally and sent to us, after which a personalized treatment plan will be created.
If the patient menstruates regularly, the donor is synchronized with her cycle for preparation. Alternatively, the father’s sperm can be frozen at our clinic, and embryos can be created with the donor’s eggs and stored until the optimal transfer time. In this case, the patient only needs to visit Cyprus for 1 day for the transfer. Freezing sperm has no negative effect on treatment success.
We also provide support for travel and accommodation. Patients may organize their own arrangements, or we can assist with hotel, transfer, and transportation bookings using our special clinic discounts.
